Death, ooh death
Thou bearer of an ugly face,
But with a name sweet like birth
Yet advances with a hefty pace
You cheat, of all creation.
For your sake, we wear garments of darkness
You reap from where you’ve never sown
Leaving the sower in the agony of sadness
Your stories I heard in history like a mystery
That I never thought of your appearance now
Here in our mist to bring to us misery
But for birth into eternity, to you I bow.
One upon our dangerous lives
We saw you live like Sirius among stars
Your presence and fragrance span like hives
That brought sweetness of honey in Jars
Anthony Osei Bonsu was for the documents
But Tony remained on the lips of the elderly
Yet Panuuci buried them all into the regiments
But today we all summon in grief solemnly
This we know was not your way
For the blood in you was warm and hot
It never got cold, not in anyway
But today we stand with an empty slot
Many are the footprint you left behind
In the shores of our lives, never to be washed
That whenever we rack our mind
It will come to us to meet our face flushed
For the few years we spent with you as Royal
You gave us reason to call you hope
Your selflessness and zeal has be monumental
Without measure like an endless rope
Our very wish would have been
That you stayed with us a little longer
But from the seer of that which is unseen
We cannot wrestle life, for He’s the giver
With heavy hearts and tears in our eyes and minds
We paint this chapter to this phase of our existence
Where dreams fade and hopes are shuttered from focus
Where stories end to make for the beginning of history
Where mortality makes way for the immortality
Where darkness is overpowered by the light of eternity
Where the Father calleth us to rest in his bosom
